How to Promote Cognitive Rigor Through Classroom Questioning (ASCD) shares how his students used to robotically repeat information back to him…without even the courtesy of a citation. However, he discovered that when he posed a thought-provoking question, things changed.  Faces lit up, conversations were sparked…everything changed.  He is seriously a master of questioning and shares the tremendous outcomes from viewing questions not as assessment items, but as beautifully impactful instructional tools.
