Stories are built on the characters that inhabit them, but we don’t often spend a lot of time learning how to make them interesting and important. Through this series of activities, students will learn a way of quickly building powerful and memorable characters for their stories.

This is designed for upper elementary students, but can easily be adapted for use with primary grade or middle-school students.

This FULL activity contains two graphic organizers, character cards, a story pattern handout, and instructions for guiding students through developing some of the coolest and most curious characters they have ever created, then taking those characters and building the starting point for stories.
