Jeff Kubiak is the principal of Nelda Mundy Elementary School with over 17 years of teaching and administrative experience. Jeff taught for ten years as an elementary classroom teacher in grades 4, 5, and 6 and has seven years of administrative experience. He strives to connect with students by bringing real world experiences to them, getting to know their names, engaging in lessons and play, and becoming a part of the learning process with them. Jeff has always looked at education from a different lens: from someone who hated and struggled with school. He vowed that he would always do his best to help increase opportunities for all students to feel heard, noticed, celebrated, challenged and safe. Jeff works hard to push back against the old model of “Industrialized Education” and fights compliance. There is not a day that goes by that he is not looking ahead to improve teacher pedagogy, student engagement and digital access for all. Jeff is former world class swimmer and coach and looks at education from perspectives that others don’t. He knows what it takes to fail, struggle, win and go through the daily challenges that we all face. If you are looking for first class educational PD, workshop or speaker for your school or district, Jeff is your go to guy. His vision of #KidsFirst thinking, student voice, All Kids can, and a Kindness focused culture, Jeff will empower your team to build resilience, confidence and compassion in any school, while rethinking compliance and methodology. His creed is: “Dare me to fail - You’ll lose.” Jeff is based in California, is writing his first children’s book, and can be found on LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com/in/jeffreykubiak , Twitter at @jeffreykubiak , https://principalkubiak.blogspot.com/
