Mary Cay Ricci is an education author, speaker and consultant. She is the author of New York Times Best Selling Education Book, Mindsets in the Classroom: Building a Growth Mindset Learning Community. Mary Cay is a former elementary/middle school teacher, instructional specialist, central office administrator and adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University. She is on the Board of Directors for the Council for Exceptional Children: The Association for the Gifted (CEC-TAG).
Mary Cay provides interactive workshops, pre-conference sessions, keynotes and presentations for teachers, administrators, school boards, leadership teams, university staff, parents and school districts. She is also a consultant for curriculum and instruction offices, gifted and talented/advanced academic teams and district leadership.
Mary Cay Ricci has also authored several other books for educators and parents: Ready to use Resources for Mindsets in the Classroom, Mindsets for Parents: Strategies to Encourage Growth Mindsets in Kids (Co-authored with Meg Lee) and Create a Growth Mindset School: An Administrators Guide to Leading a Growth Mindset School.
In 2018, Mary Cay released her first children's book, Nothing You Can't Do! The Secret Power of a Growth Mindset (Grades 3 and up). This engaging, interactive book helps children realize what their possibilities are and provides ways to help them reach their goals and dreams.
Mary Cay’s work takes the principles of growth mindset and goes beyond the praise and posters. She looks carefully at the messaging that we inadvertently send to our teams and students.
