You could have your students read about the Constitutional Convention or they could actually participate in it. The lesson gives you several arguments made at the actual Constitutional Convention in 1787. Students are given a profile of the delegate they are going to assume the role of, and then must construct an oral presentation to support their argument. After the initial debate, members of the Convention are invited to make further points either in favor or against. Students will actually get to experience what our Founding Fathers went through and gain a perspective why those arguments were important at the time. It will bring history alive for your students.
