These units, taught by Angela Stockman, invite middle and high school writers to “plug in and play” without any teacher input. Designed to lighten the load on teachers who were rushed into crisis distance teaching during COVID-19, each unit is self-navigating, self-paced, and designed to help writers produce works they are proud of even as they grapple with unpredictable schedules, resources, social circumstances, and emotions. Units do not need to be completed on any time table, students may return to lessons as often as they wish, and there are no imposed deadlines, or due dates. Teachers are welcome to wrap their own expectations around them, if they wish–although this isn’t necessary. They are also welcome to drop the links for each unit into their own dynamic communities where children may interact with one another safely. They will not interact with Angela or one another inside of these courses.
