Item description

This highly engaging lesson will get students thinking, working, and talking about separation of powers and checks and balances.  This lesson has everything you need for learning stations PLUS an anchor activity that keeps everyone working.  Designed to tap into varying learning channels, one station is a sort, another a card game, an error analysis, and a “Take a Stand.”

After students complete their learning stations, there is a menu of choices.  Students select one task per row for a total of 100 points.  One student may decided to write, another may create a phone video – choices in products can be highly motivational!

13 files – in all are in the folder, including lesson notes with suggestions.  Links to articles are there as well, in varying reading levels.

NOTE:  I tested this lesson with a group of social studies teachers for feedback – THEY LOVED IT!  Perfect blend of structure, critical thinking, and foundations!
